“GOODBYE, lip liners, brow pencils, spackled-on foundations. The hottest beauty trend of 2012 is imperfection. ” Thank god this is finally catching on, I have been waiting for my ‘no-makeup-at-all-because-I-don’t-know-how-to-use-it’ look to catch on. Check out the New York Times article, “You Can Fall Out of Bed and Look Good“… I usually stay away from ‘whats cool now’ articles, but since I am already up on this trend I figured I would share it.

About these ads

I have gone on this rampage of gluing things to my face. If anyone is interested in being as cool as I think I am, I would recommend picking up some DUO Eyelash glue and a bunch of packets of scrap-booking gemstones from your nearest craft store. I dot a miniscule amount of the glue directly on my face, and then I stick the bindi to the glue. This is much easier than trying to put the glue on a little-itty-bitty crystal and then trying to maneuver it to your face. Tip- you want it near your eye, not in your eye. Also, let the glue dry for at least ten seconds before sticking the bindi on.

You can even make them look like little dermal piercings! This was my New Years Eve look. Excuse the Snookie face, I get all weird when I turn my Photo Booth on, which is why I never do that video chatting stuff. I am afraid I would make this face for the duration of our conversation.

Little ones on the inside of the eye and bigger ones on the outside are very cute. I think that the only reason I ended up with bindis on this night is because I kept finding them stuck to things in my purse so I decided to transfer them to my boring face.

This Halloween look was complimented by fishnets and massive eyelashes. See dominatrix kitten for further information

Christmas bindis!

Bindis are great for grocery shopping, pumping gasoline, raves, watching television, eating sandwiches and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Why? According to Hinduism, one can use a Bindi as a chakra focus. A forehead bindi is often used as a way to focus the 6th chakra (Ajna) of the body, concealed wisdom or the inner eye.  Wearing bindi on the forehead helps harness energy and increase concentration. I, of course, am borrowing this very practical and meaningful form of body decoration. So, so, so very beautiful.

Thanks for tuning in for your daily Kupcake update.
